Menus - Fine Dining, Lunch for Less Menu and Bar Snacks

The relaxing and cosy restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy our wide selection of superb modern British cuisine and pub classics, all homemade and freshly prepared using seasonal, locally sourced produce wherever possible.

On weekdays choose from our A La Carte Menu, Bar Menu, Lunch For Less Menu or Young Diners Menu.

On Saturdays we concentrate on A La Carte and on Sundays we offer both the A La Carte and choice of Sunday Roasts.

Check our Daily Specials Board for further options – such as venison or game during the shooting season, fish dish of the day and delicious desserts.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our ingredients, cooking and attention to detail. Our head chef, Michael Prescott, is continually developing new dishes and we regularly update our menus.  The sample menus shown give you a taste of the style of food we like to serve but are subject to change.

Fresh, flexible, homemade food choices featuring all the old favourites but with new twists and tastes to try.

Starters and Desserts @ £2.50 each. Mains (including choice of 2 Sides and any Extras) @ £4.95.

As ever, Young Diners may order smaller portions/reasonable variations of mains from our A La carte or Bar Menus @ £5 less than the adult portion price. High chairs, activity sheets & baskets, bibs, beakers, smaller cutlery & bathroom equipment are all available to help make everyone’s meal out relaxed and unhurried.

For larger parties, we are happy to discuss your wishes and requirements and arrange pre-booking of menu choices and any special requests.

My friends and I were most impressed by the charming Blue Ball restaurant. The setting is beautiful and the service excellent, it has all the charm of the country with a contemporary twist to its outstanding menu. All credit to head chef Michael Prescott for wonderfully prepared and beautifully presented food, I shall not hesitate to recommend the Blue Bell to my friends and look forward to dining there again when I'm next in the area. It is a great place to enjoy a fine meal and relax in the cosy bar area afterwards. Truly a little slice of heaven!

I’ve been to the Blue Ball on various occasions over the past 15 or 20 years.

Recently I’ve been popping in more often as we’ve ended up taking the dog for a walk there on Sunday afternoons and then going there for a late afternoon drink and read of the papers.

Tonight a group of cyclists set off from the Blue Ball and did a 20+ mile route around Rutland before ending back at the pub for a pre-arranged meal.

I think this was a bit of a one-off for the pub as the food was not off the menu but just prepared for our group. That’s not a problem as the quality, presentation and taste of the food was excellent. The pub itself is also a great place to be: sung rooms, bigger rooms, a local’s bar, all very well decorated and laid out.

Some pubs think ‘huh, it’s a bunch of cyclists – we’ll just do a pot of cheap chilli and take the cash’, or whatever. The Blue Ball got it right ‘there’s 15 people turning up, if they got a good meal tonight, they’ll come back’.

I think everyone who went tonight will be back, with their friends.
